Precautions:
If you have experienced any kind of yoni trauma; sexual, physical (from childbirth etc) or had any kind of recent yoni or pelvic surgery, please consult your treating physician or medical practitioner before undertaking external, internal, or anal practices.
If you have been a victim of sexual trauma, sexual assault or have a history of sexual abuse or high emotional trauma I recommend consulting with a psycho-somatic therapist both before and after undertaking any yoni practices
If you have experienced any kind of yoni trauma, sexual trauma, physical trauma (from childbirth etc) or had any kind of recent yoni or pelvic surgery, please consult your treating physician or medical practitioner before undertaking this ritual.
If you have an IUD or are pregnant, consult with your treating doctor before undertaking any Internal Yoni Practices.
If you have had any kind of recent hand surgeries, cuts, abrasions, or infections do not attempt yoni practice where you are using your fingers or inserting them into your yoni. Instead consult with your treating physician or medical practitioner and ensure full healing has taken place before undertaking yoni practice.
Yoni herbal mixes are usually created by naturopaths and herbal specialists. Always seek the advice of a professional before using herbs near your yoni. Please be aware of your own sensitivities, allergies and if in doubt speak with a medical professional.
Remove all genital piercings before yoni steaming. Do not steam if you’re menstruating or pregnant. Do not steam if you have any vaginal or colon infections, instead seek the advice of a health care professional.
Please be aware of the associated burns risk and potential injury when using steam or boiling water. Never allow your yoni, thighs, buttocks, or any other part of your body to come into direct contact with boiling water or high-pressured steam. If injury occurs, place the affected body part under cool running water and call an ambulance immediately or head to your nearest hospital.
Yoni practice can evoke powerful emotions, deep memories, and transformational energy. It’s important to feel held, safe, and supported, especially if you have the above-mentioned history.
Yoni Egg Practice:
Yoni Egg Practice IS NOT about strengthening your Pelvic Floor or healing your physical body in any way.
If you have had recent or past pelvic, vaginal, uterine, cervix, urinary or abdominal surgery or have a known clinical medical condition, consult your treating physician, medical practitioner, pelvic floor specialist or physiotherapist before undertaking this ritual.
Removing the Yoni Egg:
Before you begin your Yoni Egg Practice, if you have a Yoni Egg with a drilled hole in it, you can thread some dental floss (non- flavoured) through the hole, long enough so the Yoni Egg can be gently removed at the end of the practice.
Open Hands, Soft Palms and Jacinta Lee do NOT recommend using a Yoni Egg during pregnancy, sexual intercourse, or menstruation.
